‘This was taken at the Griffith Observatory which overlooks Hollywood and was the scene of James Dean’s knife fight in Rebel Without A Cause. It seemed apt as firstly Morrissey still harbours something of a Dean fixation and secondly because he’s taken on a film star-like aspect himself in recent years. Funnily enough, Morrissey was so excited about these shots that he came up to the Q office before the magazine was published to see the pictures. The Moz, to give him his full title, studied this one for quite a while and, in his uniquely Morrithetic way, said, “It’s really very beautiful, isn’t it?”.’ - Adrian Deevoy.
